Molding
We work with manual and machined molding using synthetic
sand (green sand). We also do cold set molding for parts
weighing between 0.1 kg and 30 kg each and, especially,
for large lots. Our core room uses resin, CO2, and shell
sand.
Melting and Lab
With a Inductotherm induction melting furnace containing
two steel shell crucibles (1,500 kg capacity each) and
one alumibox crucible (500 kg) we manufacture parts weighing
between 0.1 kg and 1200 kg. SICAL has imported an optical
spectrometer (Spectro brand) from Germany. Such equipment
can analyze 18 chemical elements contained in a sample
with a margin of error inferior to 1%. SICAL also has
imported from Germany a metallographic microscope, an
Axiolab A from Carl Zeiss coupled with a camera for analyzing
the structure of the alloys we manufacture. Other complementary
equipments useful for preparing samples for analysis were
bought as well. SICAL has bought an electronic hardness
tester equipment from Switzerland.
Fettling and Finishing of Parts
SICAL has both highly qualified technicians and adequate
equipments to operate throughout this stage of the manufacture
process. Because of our company's concern with the environment,
SICAL has installed a shot blast containing a filter for
the treatment of air particles; such device guarantees
minimal degradation to the environment, especially when
compared to the traditional sand blasting. SICAL has four
furnaces for heat treatment. Three electrical furnaces,
one measuring (W by H by L) 0.6 by 0.6 by 0.9 metres (1.97
by 1.97 by 2.95 feet) and two have the size of 1.5 by
0.7 by 1.9 meters (4.92 by 2.30 by 6.23 feet). The fourth
one has four gas burners with high performance and measure
3.6 by 2 by 3.9 meters (11.81 by 6.56 by 12.8 feet). All
of SICAL's heat treatment furnaces have their temperature
control computerized.
Quality Control
Besides all the equipments described in the Melting and
Lab item, SICAL has one ultrasound USK7B Krautkrämer
and one Foerster Imaden magnetic particles machine. A
hardness tester and two pyrometers (immersion and laser)
both are used for evaluate the material's temperature
during the melting process. We also hold the technology
for tests with liquids penetrates . When it comes to training
its workers, SICAL is not a neglectful company. Its technicians
have been trained in well known institutions such as "ABENDE"
(Brazilian Association of Non-Destructive Tests) and SENAI/MG
(National Service for Industrial Improvement - Minas Gerais
Section).
Pattern Shop
SICAL's pattern shop can manufacture any kind of patterns,
in wood or aluminum. Due to its qualified workers and
appropriate equipment SICAL can supply both loose and
mounted patterns.
Machining
SICAL's machining can perform all required operations
concerning the manufacturing of parts. |
